Groundskeeper at Gila River Health Care Sacaton, AZ 85147
Maintains all exterior property of the facility or facilities for safety and attractiveness purposes by performing the following duties personally.
Responsible for ensuring that all critical tasks are fulfilled on a timely basis.
Collects and properly disposes of all non-natural materials not belonging on the property.
Performs minor repairs to irrigation systems and landscape designs.
Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
Uses pack blowers to clear property of loose vegetation, debris, etc.
Removes and properly discards the remains of dead insects, animals, and reptiles.
Sprays lawn, shrubs, building edges and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and/or insecticides.
Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
Waters lawn and shrubs.
Operates all tools and equipment safely and according to instructions to do no property damage and present no human health risks.
Empties all trash cans before or at the point when they are full or close to full.
Repairs fences, gates, walls, and walks.
Paints fences and outbuildings.
Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, pack blowers and edging equipment.
Power washes permanent structures such as walkways, buildings and fences of all residue and bird droppings.
Demonstrates ability to regularly change priorities to accomplish all tasks despite frequent interruptions.
Demonstrates ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, while performing all essential functions.
Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
Basic landscape maintenance experience and knowledge gained through employment.
Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
