Payroll Manager at Gila River Health Care Sacaton, AZ 85147
Manages all day-to-day payroll activities.
Ensures payments and payroll processing are complete, accurate, and timely for all employees.
Directs all payroll specialists within the department.
Oversees and directs the payroll and time keeping functions of GRHC.
Ensures payroll runs and associated payments are accurate and made on a timely basis, while complying with GRHC's pay policies and practices.
Oversees processing of all pay cycles and regulates all payroll tax-related compliance.
Manages time and attendance systems, absence management systems and ensures records are accurate and in compliance with federal, tribal and state regulations.
Manages payroll inquiries from employees and ensures timely resolution of all requests.
Ensures timely processing of garnishments, payroll taxes and 401K.
Supervises, assigns, directs, and reviews work of assigned personnel.
Evaluates the performance of supervised staff members.
Promotes staff development through training and educational resources such as seminars.
Collaborates with the Human Resources and Finance departments to maintain accurate payroll information and financial reporting by performing monthly and quarterly reconciliation of payroll accounts.
Manages preparation of relevant management reports regarding payroll, such as quarterly gross payrolls, overtime or wage history reports.
Ensures complete and accurate payroll tax filings including, 941 forms and applicable state tax forms and W-2 forms.
Assists CFO with the preparation of compensation payments to the Board of DirectorsOversees new payroll related initiatives, payroll system upgrades and interprets new government regulations or company policies that affect procedures.
Performs other job-related activities as necessary , including internal and external audit requestsHigh School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or closely related field preferred.
3 years of payroll experience required; 2 years supervision of a payroll team preferred.
Current and valid Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) license preferred.
Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
