Quality Coordinator

Overview:
The Quality Project Coordinator is responsible for managing and implementing all quality improvement initiatives for Gila River Health Care (GRHC) under the supervision of the Quality Manager or Director of Outcomes Management Informatics (OMI).
Responsibilities:
Manages external improvement projects such as American Indian Medical Home and the many AzHHA initiatives.
Assists in the development of clinical outcome measures, related tracking and monitoring systems and a mechanism to integrate efforts into organization-wide patient safety, accreditation, and care quality systems.
Facilitates use of the external quality and regulatory reporting to improve patient outcomes.
Assists in identifying quality and patient safety improvement opportunities based on evidence based clinical practices and statistical analysis of current practice patterns.
Manages clinical quality and patient safety data collection, aggregation, and dissemination within the hospital, specific to clinical quality and patient safety.
Collaborates with hospital leadership to manage and monitor outcomes measures within the hospital.
Promotes a culture of patient safety and implementation of high reliability practices within a hospital.
Assists in the development of mechanisms to integrate efforts into organization-wide patient safety, accreditation, and care quality systems.
Recommends program specific objectives and metrics to evaluate programs achievements and success.
Collaborates with other departments to promote process improvement and outcome improvement strategies.
Participates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels.
Creates project plans, assigns tasks to resources, tracks progress, and identifies barriers with escalation as needed.
Performs other job-related activities as requested.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in health information management, health information technology, healthcare administration, managed care, nursing or a closely related field of study.
2
years of professional experience in a healthcare setting working with quality improvement methodologies.
