Employee Relations Specialist

Manages administrative and specialized Human Resources advisory functions, including but not limited to deployment of employee retention activities, preparation of preliminary investigations and development of associated action recommendations, facilitation of grievances support, and development of training curriculum to address employee relations practices.
Leads employee learning related to policies, practices, and wellness programs.
Responsibilities:
Works with managers and employees as needed to understand, monitor and resolve complaints and conduct investigations as needed.
Investigates employee relations incidences, interviews employees, reviews communications and other relevant data, prepares investigation results, oversees resolution of issues, and communicates results to managers and key stakeholders involved.
Assists with formal grievance procedures from start to finish in accordance with organization and department standards and regulations.
Provides coaching and guidance to management and employees regarding organizational policy, practices and standards.
Interprets established policies, procedures, and practices in response to inquiries.
Identifies and recommends key components within the Employee Relations strategic plan and conducts leadership and employee training presentations.
Provides support for HR representation and participates in Human Resources Policy presentations at every New Employee Orientation.
Manages and monitors unemployment claims through meetings with the claimant's department and attends unemployment hearings as the organization's representative.
Performs other job-related activities as requested.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a closely related field preferred.
2 years of experience working with executive level, highly sensitive, and confidential information involving employee relations matters required.
PHR Certification preferred.
Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
